Hm, you might have to play them through your dashboard.

There should be a dvd player with evox, use that instead.

It uses the controller for access, I'm not sure if it does handle the remote or not as I don't own one. That's why god invented wireless controllers (hehehe).

Sorry, can't really suggest much other than this...

Hmmm...that is strange. Did you install the region free upgrade from the HQ autoinstallers?

That is the only thing that I do when I install xenium ice chips for my customers...and it plays dvd's fine...so far anyway.

Keep me posted.

Okay I just downloaded the Auto installer and did the region free thing and it did not work. the error that i am getting is unable to match xboxdash.xbe, so what i did was want and rename it because i had changed it when i had put evox on it. SO I tried it again and still nothing>. Im a little confused!!!!!!! Shocked Evil or Very Mad Rolling Eyes

Hi rage,

Did you originally setup your XBOX or did someone else do it for you?
We need more info about your xbox setup anyway! Smile

1. Can you ftp into the xbox
2. ftp the file evox.ini to your pc. (located on xbox c:\evox.ini)
Then open the evox.ini in NOTEPAD and copy and paste into the forums here..

Paste it in the forum and then HIGHLIGHT ALL the evox.ini and press the CODE BUTTON up the top just there.. (next to quote).

It sounds like your evox.ini is not linking correctly.
Also please let us know what .xbe files you have on your c:\ drive too.

I have on my xbox c:
c:\evox.xbe
c:\xboxdash.xbe

BTW.. IF YOU WANT A .PDF TUTORIAL on HOW to use the XBOXHQ AUTOINSTALLER try this post..

ok..

Can you see these lines here:
Code:
AutoLaunchDVD   = No
DVDPlayer   = "f:\apps\dvd2.0\default.xbe"

I would go into your evox system settings and change AUTOLAUNCH DVD to yes..

Then ftp into your xbox and make sure that the directory exists for the dvd REGIONFREE player.. f:\apps\dvd2.0\default.xbe

Make sure its there.. If it is not then you are doing something wrong when using the AUTO INSTALLER..

If the file DVD REGION FREE files are there then it should automaticlaly boot a DVD when you insert it..

anyway, get back to us.. Always try and give as much info as possibel about whats going on.

last thing:
DOes you M$ Dashboard (retail original dashboard) still work or is this the error your talking about.

this is a new one to me.

hm, shouldn't dvd2.0 be dvdx?

This might be something I forgot to check with the scripts, but my installer will copy the dvd player to dvdx not dvd2.0.

I apologise for this, I'll double-check the new installer now just to make sure...

Hi rage,

before we continue can you please update your profile here:
http://xbox-hq.com/html/forums-profile-editprofile.html

Copy my signature into your profiel and turn on 'always use signature'..
Make sure you have all the info you can possibly give us on your xbox.. Its hard to answer your problems when we dont know if you are using a RETAIL (standard) HDD or a LARGER HDD..

If you dont have a F:\ drive you must have RETAIL HDD.
So in otherwords you should be installing everything to E:\

I know for a fact that the XBOX HQ AUTOINSTALLER works fine. So it must be user error.

To get a f:\ drive you must have installed a LARGER HDD.. to get a G:\ drive you LARGER HDD must be bigger then 137gb Smile

hope that helps a bit more..

cheers,

forahobby

rage,

if you have a RETAIL (standard) XBOX HDD then there is NO WAY you could have a f:\ or g:\ drive..

YOU ONLY HAVE A e:\ DRIVE ON YOU XBOX!!!

So copy all your games, apps etc onto only E:\

all games go into here:
e:\Games\

all applications go into here:
e:\Apps\

all emulators go here:
e:\Apps\Emulators\

This is a standard directory convention since the release of evox a very long time ago.

F: and G: are the same but only after you install a LARGER HDD.
