Hey guys!
Have been reading all the post I could find on this subject but none are exactly my problem. Used splinter cell exploit to load evox, got that far then made the mistake of changing the setting for auto play game to 'yes' and now the box boots to the evox screen and then pulls up the error21. Box will also not boot to dash unless a game is in (get error 13). Is it possible to fix this without a hotswap or can a hotswap even fix this. I did back up all files on C: through ftp before I transferred the evox over. Pullin out my hair over this so help would be appreciated. (My kids and wife don't know yet lol!)

* Also 'no' MODCHIP installed.

u try powering ur xbox with the eject botton ? try that.... i had the same issue lol and i actuly post about it and like 5 minutes latter found out what was wrong i flet like a dumb ass lol.... Fells good to not be the only one

You won't find too many softmodders here. We are mostly modchip users. However, if you get it sorted out, please stick around. We need more softmodders to help others.

got everything fixed by hotswapping the drive into my computer. used xboxhd to restore from backup and evrything back to original.
Still cant get past error 21 after I initially load the splinter cell hack. gets me to evo-x dashboard throught the save game exploit but past that I am stuck.

Success!!!!!!!!!!!!
Download the UDE/UDE2 package with exploit. Figured out I had to hit the 'B' button to bring up the menu and Bam!!! Back up then install... then I put in Slayers 2.6 installer and everything's great!!

Very cool..
After you get more aquainted with your softmod it would be great if you could list all the things you could do..like all of your features.
Can you play originals and backups, can you game on xbox live, what are your limitations...stuff like that..
Then, maybe if you could submit a tutorial on how you did your exploit it would be so much appreciated.
We don't have too many softmodders as members here and it would really help out others if you could stick around..

So you've ordered a modchip? I'd hang in there until it's up and running. I, too, have read many tutorials on softmods. I've even gone so far as to buy a VIRGIN Xbox from Wal-Mart, but its sitting in my bedroom, unopened, still untouched by non-Chinese hands!
I never could get an unmodded Xbox to recognize the MechInstaller game save. My modded Xboxs do recognize it when I FTP'd it and it looks like I could do a softmod on a hardmodded Xbox, for whatever good THAT would do!
I may play around with softmodding the new Xbox. I've kept my receipt in case I screw it up!
Hopefully, someone will be able to spoon-feed you through this. I can't, but keep us informed if you figure it out! I want to give it a try, but I haven't really found a GOOD tutorial. Maybe you'll end up writing one for us? _________________ The World's Most Awesome Xbox 360 Room

Heres everything you need. Get the itool D/L from the 'usaul place through irc. I used splinter cell then extracted and re-zipped the hack to my memory card(used Microsoft one) then when I got to the usual in game ( start, load linux profile) it booted to MXM screen then hit the 'Y' button and scrolled down to install UDE. I chose UDE2 just to be safe. Then when it was done I just rebooted and made sure there was no disc in the tray and I was up and running. No ftp'ing until I did a backup of 'c'.

p.s It plays backups, regular, AND dvd'S NOW!!!!!!

I tried the Mech install first as well, but I found out that everyone was having trouble with the install unless you had the original Mech game (not Game of the Year or Platinum Hits) Splinter Cell worked flawlessly!

Yes, I had the original MechAssault (the one that is supposed to work, ). Will that work on a v1.6?
