Hi Fellas
Sorry, completely out of the scene for a couple years but here goes,
I have modded xbox - chipped like a year ago
w/ Executer2 4980.06
Stock drive.
I have a brand new 300GB HDD that i want to put in there.
I have AID 3.0 burnt to DVD and running now...
So, just want to get some confirmation/reassurance before proceeding.
Now, do i put the new HDD in and just boot AID and format the drive?
Will I have to flash the BIOS to enable large HDD support and can that be done using AID as well?
Also - confused about locking/unlocking - that still needs to be done?
I completely apologize for all the questions but have read so much these last few days that i am overwhelmed and confused now and a little nervous about messing stuff up.
Any help/suggestions appreciated !
Thanks in Advance

just pop in the hdd and run aid, format large harddrive F, G then prepare E, F, G, then install your dash and apps, Etc...
You may need to flash a new bios thats LBA enabled if all the harddrive space dont show.
And you dont have to lock the harddrive, thats optional.
And theres nothing to be worried about, with a modchip its hard to mess up anything.
If you have anymore Q's just ask. _________________

Just wanted to note that a good bios to flash(as Hellblazer suggested) would be the X2 5035, which can also be done from the AID disc before you format it. _________________

Personally if you havent flashed your modchip before and it is working fine i say leave it.. But thats just me.. I have no doubt it will support larger hdd's anyway..
If not then flash it..
Dont worry about locking and unlocking drives.. You have a modchip so you can run it either way..
You should lock your hdd though so if you use XBOX LIVE your hdd is locked..
Also, when the modchip is turned off.. the Xbox HDD MUST BE LOCKED or you will get a error screen.
Just thought id fill you in there..
Procedure to Upgrade HDD (modchip):
1. Download and Burn AID to a DVD-R/CDRW
2. Boot your Xbox to make certain that aidleluxe will boot to the main menu.
3. Pull apart your xbox and remove the old xbox hdd taking note of the jumper settings on the harddrive itself.
4. Check jumper settings on old hdd and new hdd and make sure they match.
5. Install your new larger hdd.
6. Put your xbox back together.
7. Boot AIDeluxe and it will find the new hdd and ask if you want to format.
8. Yes to format and once its finished you will need to install
- M$ Dashboard to C: Drive
- Dashboard of your choice to E:\ or F:\ drive (depending on bios) (i suggest XBMC as a dashboard)
- Any other apps you want to install from aid.
9. When your done you can lock your hdd using a program on AIDELUXE called config magic.
