So... assuming that the original mobo (the one the eeprom backup was created on) and the new mobo are the same version, I should be able to restore the old eeprom to the new mobo. Right?

Straight from the chip...yes
If they are different you will have to take the long way around and convert it.
Just dont forget to have that backup copy of the other eeprom somewhere safe in case you want to go on live with it, or if its a virgin eeprom, you could always try to sell it. Usually you can get about 10 bucks for it. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Great, thanks for all the help.
I'll report back here as to what happens. If I brick the thing, it's on my head, but I have a feeling it'll be okay.
