This is my first mod to a version 1.6 and it sucks. I put in a x-Chip and now whenever I try to turn the machine on it reboots three times and goes to a flashing red LED. I have tried to load at least 10 different bioses with the exact same results. Any help at this point might keep my sane.

If you disable the chip does it boot normally?

Check your soldering, did you have any splashes, lifted traces, etc?

Do you get any lights or any indication that chip is working?

I am going to blame the problem on software or bios. I dont know how to disable the chip but if I unplug it it works as normal

If you pull the chip and it works fine, then yes, its the chip.

Was the chip supposed to come with cromwell flashed to it? What type of chip is it again, do you have a link to where you bought it from?
