I have SID 4.5 and installed in dual Retail Mode!
Why did xbox live Ban Me Completly when retail mode is the only mode you can ACCESS Xbox LIve? I turned on my box with the tray open to play Live and then i sign out and back in, then straight to the troubleShooter with a Nice Message saying MODIFIED XBOX ERROR!
Connot Communicate with xbox live cuz there may be modified hardware or software
WTF?
I thought SID 4.5 was xbox live safe???

it is if you
1) never used xbox live on that xbox, if you have used xbox live on that xbox prior to softmod see number 2
2) if your had or still have live and upgraded the hard drive the softmod doesnt hide that, and you may still get banned _________________ Please post all PC Questions at PC-HQ.com

Okay i have an upgrade HD in my box which is 160GB, but i still have my stock HD, so could i put that in and change the eeprom somehow so i can play on live again?
And if i can, could you explain how?
I have other eerpom's that i can use but i don't know how change eeprom's and i don't have a mod chip to make locking and unlocking easier so... can you help me ?

then turned it off, turned back on in retail mode to play again on live then it said can't connect to xbox live.
So i uninstalled the soft mod to see if xbox live worked
so now the xbox is now stock except for the fact that it is a 160gb hard drive, goto sign in went to trouble shooter and got that nice Message "Modified Xbox Error" Cannot Comunicate with xbox live cuz there may be a software or hardware modified.

ok, well you can't use the 160 gig harddrive now to go on live as the harddrive serial has been tagged by the Live system, and I think theres a tutorial on changing the eeprom in the tutorials section. Soon as you change the eeprom and use the stock harddrive you should be able to go back on live. _________________

Well i found the TUT! But my question is do i have to have a modchip or can do this with a softmod cuz i've heard that once your hd is unlocked you can't lock it back up without a chip or a pc, Is this true?

if you have an eeprom back ups, you can lock the harddrive back up with the PC, make sure you dont shut the power off while doing this, or you will have problems. _________________

make sure you have the eeprom backups on the PC first before doing anything. _________________

So what you are telling me is, you can't lock the hard drive with config magic after you unlocked it?

you can unlock and lock the harddrive with config magic, so long as you dont shut the xbox off, but thats why you back up your eeprom first incase something goes wrong. _________________

then i must be doing something wromg lol, cuz i cant get it to work, that tut, i keep getting a error 6, it doesnt update the eeprom on the xbox, just the loxking key on the hard drive, and it locks it to the new eeprom lol, but the eerpom is still the same on the xbox _________________ Please post all PC Questions at PC-HQ.com
