OK, I have a 1.0 XBOX, and I was using SID 3.1 with the AUF exploit.
I went to Install SoftMod, and then Install EvoX, without backup EEPROM. When I went to reboot I got the "Your XBOX needs service."
I think I only just fucked up the M$ Dash, because I can still boot AUF that's in the drive, and I can get back to the SID menu threw AUF.
So, I asked my friend WTF I just did, and he said "I'm ROYALLY screwed!" But this is coming from a guy who hardmodded his box.
I need a pro's opinion on the subject.
I'm downloading AID 3.0 right now off of BT. I already got the 3.03 patch, and the ISO building program thing.

I used the SID exploit.
I think it just overwrote the orignal XBOX Dash.

Depending on the error screen you got you probabally just messed it a little.
If you have a router, then just boot the Installer with AUF, and FTP into it, Download the 'MSDASH" file found in Pirrup's signate (From this forum, you can find him by search). Then Copy that to your E:/Backup/MS
make sure you re-name the folder MS before copying it back over.
If you already made a MSDash backup, then go back to the autoinstaller with AUF, and click remove softmod, after you did that, try to backup the eeprom, it should work without error.
After you do that, then they should both be backed up (Note, if you didn't already have a MS backup, remove you must get the MS dash from Pirrup, if you did then your ok).
Then just go through the steps again, Install Softmod, I use Evox, its eaysiest, lol. Then it'll tell you to shut down the xbox, restart it and take the game out.
If it doesn't tell you to shut it down it means you had an error and it didn't install all the way, or at all.
If that happens, go back on here, and copy the AID 4.5 NKnave edition verson, and use your action replay or whatever method you use for AUF. Boot up with that one, and backup the MS and eeprom. then installed the softmod, reboot, take the game out, install the dash and you should be all set to go.
I suggest 4.5 on it, because it always works for me, I don't do it for Live reasons, just because 3.1 doesn't work as good for me. If your xbox is real old, you might have to get the MS dash froM Pirrup if your trying to install sid 3.1 because you need the newer MSDash as a backup, tryust me, I had an oldie too (V1.1).
If you need it explained better I can do so later, but read through it carefully, I'm sure others will help if you have anymore questions.
Thanks!

<-- The error I get. (I have the XBOX hooked up to t3h compz0rz. )
I'm downloading the M$ dash now.
The thing is, I have the wireless thing that I got for LIVE (Which I don't plan to use anymore, because it expired.) Will it still use it the same as a hard-wire?

Yeah, Ethernet cable? lol...(never used live)
You should be good to go, after copy over that nice big folder (it takes a bit)
and backup the eprom and try installing with Sid 4.5, it works more often that 3.1, for me atleast, and especially with my older xbox
Oh, after you copy over the backup, go in the installer, load the backup, too, so your xbox is up to date dash wise, even bafore the softmod install, its just nice to have it ready, yanno. Peace!

Nope, my dad blocks me after 11 EST. He still acts like I'm 13. (I'm 18. lol)
Yeah, it's working alright.
But the problem is, I need some links to some good tools.
I shall need to know how to do the following:
1. How to flash my BIOS to Evolution X's BIOS.
2. How to transfer ISOs to the XBOX.
3. Is it possible to add background music to EvoX? It's kind of boring... Also, I can't figure out how to change the skin.
4. How to rip current games that are on disc to the XBOX.
5. Get trainers for the following game, for EvoX. 007 Nightfire NTSC version. Half-Life 2 PAL version. That's all.
If someone could help me out here. I tried FTPing that dvd2xbox, and it ran the first time, but when I went to go change to the skin to XP, it never worked again.
So, I tried reFTPing it, and it still won't boot the application. WTF
EDIT: Where is everyone today?

Do you have the SID 3.0 iso disc thing?
1. The Bios might be flashable with the SID 3.0 disc, not sure, I would ask pezzar a member here, he seems to do a lot of flashing bios.
2. On the AID 3 iso disc, go to applications and Install dvd2xbox (with a stock HD you can only really fit one game on it, and you shouldn't really do that because if you fill up the E drive completely there wont be enough room for nessiccary Cache.
3. I'm not exactly sure about the background music, I would ask one of the admin here. I see ModdingBandit around quite a bit . And to change the skin you have to download skins, lol.
4. Same as 2.
5. You can download Trainers from torrents. I have an old file that has the gameshark on it, you'd just FTP it into E:/Apps PM me and I'll send ya' it.
Hope this helps ya' Glad to see you got the other part working again.

Yeah, I'm waiting for my 120 GB HDD to arrive.
I got the SID 4.7 installer thing on the HDD.
And I got the AID ISo creator.
How do I launch the created ISO?

I didn't even know a SID 4.7 came out, I only know of SID 4.5nknave edition ;P.
Anyways, Once you have the ISO on the PC, burn it off with Dvd Decrypter or Nero, either that will burn a bootable ISO disc. and just put it in your xbox, its just like a game, but its SID

4.5, sorry.
I received the hard drive I bought from eBay. It's a 120 GB HDD. (111 GB exact.)
I'm preparing it with the XHDPREP v1.3 tool.
Once it's done, it just goes into the XBOX, and it will work, like nothing ever happened?
Do I need to have a different BIOS for it to work? Because I still haven't figured out how to flash t3h biosz0rz.

You can use a TSOP flash to flash the bios, but you don't need to with a softmodded xbox, it will perform great without it.
And do, you can't just use hdprep. All that does is create the partitions. You still need to put the files onto the new drive and lock the drive. Check for the xboxhdm tutorials, its a great way to get the files in the right place and lock the drive easily. _________________
