My XBox powers on and off three times and flashes red-and-green with no video and no sound.

I want to know how to reprogram the mod chip. I checked all the connections of the modchip and found nothing wrong with it. Can someone show me how to reprogram the modchip. Or if you have any other solution, can you tell me, thanks.
BTW, i got a Xcuter3 modchip.

Hi,

Do you have a progammer to flash the X3??
If your xbox isnt booting correct then you will more then likely need to flash the modchip usnig a programmer.

What did you do to cause this error?? Were you flashing the modchip, eeprom or something..

Hopefully its just a corrupt flash on your modchip and once you get it flashed again with the X3 bios you should be ready to go.

Also, Have you tried changing the modchip bios banks.. I beliebe the X3 bios has multiple banks and probably abackup bank (protected)..

You could change the switch on your X3 to hopefully see if it boots.

Let us know how you go and sorry i couldnt be of more help

cheers,

FH

I forgot to tell you how I got the problem, I didnt know how to launch a dashboard and I lost all hope and i thought maybe I could flash my bios. Not knowing what I was doing I flashed it and when I rebooted my xbox it started to FRAG.

To answer your question, no I dont got a programmer to flash my bios, I should of left it alone. It got messed up when I tried to download the AID2 in my xbox. It was fine when my uncles friend installed the chip. Crying or Very sad

Also, when I change the switches sometimes when I boot the xbox I see a blue screen that says FlashBios 3.0.3 and sometimes it frags and turns on and off.
Thanks for your help and support.

If you get the FlashBios screen working on your xbox you should be able to insert a BIOS CD and reflash your modchip again.. Hopefully thats all you need to do.. Im not familiar with the x3 but hopefully it has a prtected bank with the flashbios on it.

Let us know how you go..

Hi ernie,

I believe with the X3's you can only run a X3 bios..
So they should be easy to identify i would say.

Heres some example bioses i know the names of which should work fine.
X3 3294 , Xecuter 3283

So dont go flashing any bios onto your X3 unless it states that it is for a X3.. Ok..

Apart from that you will be fine..

I also believe you can flash your X3 via http (webbrowser).. Just look into the easiest way..

Thanks.

just boot up your xbox to the X3 dashboard to access the http features from your pc....

follow this tutorial here:

Flashing via HTTP (at very bottom) of page:
http://www.xbox-hq.com/html/xbox-tutorials-124.html

From FlashBIOS 3.0.0

1. Acquire the X3 BIOS.
2. Once in FlashBIOS move the menu with the controller to the "Network Flash" menu option. Hit A.
3. Provided you have a DCHP enabled network you should see an IP on the screen. If not, learn you some networking.
4. Open your web browser and type in the address seen on screen.

Hey, also don't forget if you ever have to reflash your X3 all you need to do is boot to the backup bios by pressing both the power button/eject button at the same time.

You will boot to the backup bios and the X3 on the switch will light up a pinkish/purplish color.

When this happens, all you do is move your switch to the bios bank that you wish to reflash and then flash! It's that simple!!

Sorry I didn't see this post eariler to let you know that you can do that. This saves you from having to use a programmer to reflash your chip. Unless of course you corrup the backup bios...lol.
