Ok so for the last 3 days i have been trying to sof mod my box
I have Mech Assualt, the Action Replay software. the docking station for it as well. i got the save game from a buddy over msn.
So i have copied the save game to my Box, and deleted all the saved games for Mech Assault before that. i take out the Memory Card and boot the Xbox with the game, i go to campaign and load the "run Linux"
my box reboots and gives me a screen of Black and Green with
Service Required Call Customer support
and then a bunch of chinese writing under it.
Anyone have any idea hwere i went wrong?

i'm having the same problem only with splinter cell i get black screen . Note that many Action Replay cards corrupt large saves which results in a black or error 21 screen. Solution would be to use
a small gamesave exploit to grant access to the hd and copy this save to the E:\UDATA folder via ftp. Or use another memory
card..
as far as i can tell the problom were hitting into is action replay corupting the exploit saves.hope this helps you out a bit.good luck

ok i think im usuing SID4 bc thats what loads on my Xbox HD. but i dont think it has the installer files on it
can u give me the proper file?

un install it!!!!!!! the same happened 2 me just buy a mod chip!!!!!

You also need 2 files with SID4, the installer file and the game save. To get the files, click the link at the top of the page that says AIDeluxe.com and go to the download section. From there you can download the softmod torrent OR you can do a direct download off of the website for AID3.0(something you shuld have anyways). You will get an ISO. if you use cxboxtools(again, at the top of the page) you can extract all the file. Then navigate to: <folder where it was extracted>\Files\Auto-Installer Deluxe v3\Files\SID\45nknave. You will need SID and the appropriate game save.

How was the 'xbox need service' issue resolved? I have softmoded using ver 4.5 and get the same service message. I used the xboxhdm to rebuild the xbox drive to retail state. Tried installing softmod 4.5 again and get the same message after SID4.5 has installed softmod and then reboots.

SID4.5 off the Auto.Installer.Deluxe.v3.0.Xbox-Hqp torrent. I can still ftp into the xbox. When I ftp into the xbox I can not see shodowc.img as stated in the install doc nor can I see SID4 folder.
