hey everyone. i have a question about backup games. i aquired the files off my game by ftping my dvd drive on my xbox. now what i want to do is ftp the game to the hdd. do i have to use c-xbox tool to patch it or is it fine as it is? i tried that but i took out the french files and pal but it didnt work

If you want to backup to your hard drive, you could use a tool like dvd2xbox, as that will copy the files. If your running unleashx as a dashboard or an app, you could use that as well. You could even use a file explorer to copy the files directly in the xbox.

Complex tools is another good program you could use to put games onto your hard drive. If you want to burn a disk use qwix to create an iso using ftp then burn the iso using nero or dvd decrypter etc. Both programs should be easy enough to find.

ok im sending the game with FlashFXP right now for the second time. i tried b4 and it registered on my xbox but all i got was a black screen and it didnt load up. im using UnleashX for a dashboard and i dont know if its ok to mention what game it is. its new i can tell you that. the first time i sent it over i took out the demo of mortal kombat showlin monks, the PAL versions of the levels and the other languages...thats when i got the black screen. now ive re-done everything and im trying it with the full copy (5 GB) for future reference plz tell me if im doing anything wrong...or is it ok to take out PAL and other languages? or does the game need them to run? thanks for you help \m/Thor\m/

ok guys thats a no go lol the file was too big and it wouldnt fit on the xbox. and nothing was on it in the first place lol. i also tried removing the french folder and the PAL folders then making an iso with quix, then extracting and autopatching with c-xbox tool 2 and that didnt work. all i get is a black screen. and im very frustrated. how do others get these backups to work? plz tell me. i have UnleashX, but i dont know what version my xbox is ive put other backups on there and they work with alittle work of extracting the iso and patching it! is the game protected somehow? because all im getting here is a black screen and it doesnt load. it shows the title and icon of the game in the games folder on the xbox but nothing else. ttyl \m/thor\m/

I'm afraid your pretty much out of luck. If you don't have the space on your hard drive you obviously can't put it in there. It obviously will not fit on a standard dvd. Why not try a dual layer dvd disk. Check that your writer will burn to dual layer disks. You can fit 9gb on a dual layer disk opposed to only 4.7gb on a normal dvd. I personally don't know how to shrink games only dvds. It's an awful lot of hassle to try and do that when you can burn it onto a dual layer disk.
