Hello, I need help with emulators, want to know how they work and what do they do, and where to install them. I'm sorry for this questions but I'm just learning this stuff, thank you in advance _________________ Kacike61

Emulators are basically old video game systems that work inside of new ones or computers. Basically, you can have a nintendo 64 inside of your xbox. Then there are roms, which are equal to the games. So the emulator is basically a video game system and a rom is a game, combine those and the possibilities are endless.
If you are asking where to install them in your xbox, they will either go in your E partition or your F partition depending on space.

The basic idea of an emulator is to emulate the hardware of another system. For example, the Nintendo had X amount of RAM, Y amount of processor, etc, and all the games referenced things that they knew would be there(registers, memory blocks, etc). An emulator basically wraps around the game(ROM) and when the ROM requests access to a certain peice of hardware, it redirects it to the current machine, in this case an xbox.
What this means: You can play games like the original Mario Brothers game on an Xbox.
Two things to keep in mind, though. 1) You'll never see equivelant machines emulating each other. The emulator requires memory and processor to run, as well as what the game requires, so you will never see a gamecube or PS2 emulator for the xbox. There may eventually be one for the 360, but who knows. 2) Playing ROMS that you do not own the original version of is ILLEGAL. IF you own 007:Golden Eye for the N64, then you can legally use a ROM, however you got it.
