I have a Xbox 1.0 with a (homebrew?) mod (29 wires) installed and am looking at upgrading the hdd. Looking at a dual-boot soft mod as I can't find my solder gun for a TSOP flash. I have access to Splinter Cell and I can fxp the save file to the hdd (E:\UDATA I assume). Should I go that route or I can I simply load up "Auto-Installer.Deluxe.v3.0.Xbox-Hq" DVD/CD and have it install the softmod (since the unit is chipped it can play the DVD/CD fine)??? Or should I proceed as the guides state.
I assume I should remove the mod after the softmod has been installed (which I am unsure of how I will know the softmod is working since the unit is chipped, short of snipping some wires or uninstalling it).
I did try softmodding (have Softmod.Installer.Deluxe.v2.0.Xbox-Hq) and got the "Error 0" so I had to load up Slayers and format and reinstall everything to get the unit to "normal" (and I see the work around for that error), was just wondering if there was a better route to tackle this (since most people aren't softmodding a chipped unit).
Thanks

this is possible to reflash your TSOP with your original retail bios, and softmod from there, but than again, why not split your 1mb bios to 2 512k, and adapt a switch, than you can switch on to use 1 bios, and off to use the other, and 1 will be retail, and 1 will be your hacked bios. _________________ Xbox v1.1
