I was attempting to remove SID 4.0 to upgrade to SID 4.5. I think I somehow foobar'd the process.
After I removed SID 4.0 and tried to install SID 4.5, it keeps saying, the system is already softmodded and I needed to take action: Rename when I tried to backup the MS Dash. I got around this by manually ftping MS Dash 5960 to the E:\BACKUP\MS directory from AID 3.0 and continued with the SID 4.5 install. Everything seems to be okay.
Few questions:
1. Since I manually created a backup of MS Dash 5960, is there anything I'm missing if SID 4.0 or 4.5 did the backup?
2. What does the error, Action: Rename mean?
3. Have I screwed up anything and should I start over again?
Thanks

no i think you have all you really need. Just bc you have AID now don't use itas a crutch. It is made fopr the purpose of helping you not making you dependant on it. Well if the box still works then you don't really need to restart all over again do you?? the error rename means that you just didn't have it written correctly(maybe you changed something you weren't supposed to). But try to load SID4 and if everything seems fine and boots correctly, then you have succeeded in upgrading. I hope I helped you.

2. What does the error, Action: Rename mean?
This is an error made by UnleashX dashboard(dash used to script the install process)
It may Indicate the issue in CAPS letter sometimes.
These errors are caused, by also depending on the menu you executed and how long it took the error to come up.
Example: If you don't backup your eeprom before you choose to install your softmod>boot>dash, than you'll get this error, since the file "eeprom.bin" was not found on the directory where it needed to be for the install to continue.
The are checkpoints we decided to put on SID, that way ppl can't do certain things with out a certain check.
Example 2: If you have a modded C drive, you cannot backup your MS Dash via the menu, and you'll get an error saying that the files are modded, this will prevent the backing up of files that aren't retail, etc...
Hopes this explains this a bit for you all. _________________ Xbox v1.1
