how can i find out witch chip is installed without opening the XBOX?
someone know's a software for the xbox that can tell the name of the chip?

Unfortunately NO.. There is no such application..
You will have to open you xbox and have a good look at your modchip..
You should have an idea of what it is also if you know roughly when it was put it..

Well there is an application called Bios Check. It's mainly for indentifiying BIOSes but it can detect modchips aswel. Unfortunatly it's seriously old and would only identify older chips but it might be worth a try. I'm not sure whether it's on this site or not.
