I need help My xbox turns off when i am playing or watching a movie, even when i just turn it on as soon as the xbox logo is on it goes off, what could be wrong?? _________________ Unleash X V.0.31.1207A

It just powers of and i really don't know if it is soft or chip mod, not sure yet, i have to open it up to find out. Does that has to do something whit it?
Something else since i have the original hdd, i have to delete games from e:\games so i can put new ones there, could i have damage the HDD?

Is there a set thing you do before it turns off, such as playing a game for a long time, inserting a new game in, etc.? Also, you said it turns off sometimes right after it boots up, does it do this upon initial bootup for the day, or after a few boot up's have been performed? _________________ XBOX- V1.0

some times is after a few boot up's have been performed and some times is after the first one of the day. i think the first time that it happen was when one of mi kids put the cable box on top of the xbox and it was very hot, the xbox was off. but when it turn it on it started to do this things, if i am playing a game i would turn off just as is have started to play or play a lot, there is no pattern that i can fallow. _________________ Unleash X V.0.31.1207A

Yes i did move the cable box from the xbox and i dont think it is over heating cause were i live at nigth the temp outside is arrown 90 F, so were the xbox is in A/C, so i think my next option will be the power cord, anything else i have to check?

I forgot all about this option. If you have evox, if you go into settings, you can actually see the temp. of both your mobo and harddrive, check those after playing a few minutes to see if it is too high, if it is, than it definitely is overheating and you will need to do something with the fan. If it is not overheating, than at least you can rule that out. _________________ XBOX- V1.0

im a US Army soldier in Iraq and had a friend experience the problem your having. come to find out he was over voltage with a faulty converter...all power here is 220, anyway he was over driving the power supply and the console would just cut off. he eventually burned up the power supply. i opened the console up and noticed a cap was burned up that was located on the front of the power supply. the cap acted as a fuse "thank god" and i was able to fix it by creating my own fuse in its place. the cap is only for cleaning and regulating the voltage before it enters the actual power supply. so i recommend checking the voltage that is entering the power supply. could be a possible porblem.
