Hi. I just recently purchased an xchip (solderless) and installed it in my xbox with no problem. The led light went on but when I actually started up the sytem I got the original xbox dashboard. Nothing happened. Now what? I keep reading that I need to get a new bios and dashboard but where do I get these? Which one do I use? I am so lost! If someone could please help me. I have an Xbox version 1.0
Thanks.

You need to read some tutorials bud. You should have had your modchip bios flash procedure already figured out prior to installing.
Some chips have to be flashed via a programmer, others a usb cable to your PC..the more elite chips can just flash right from the DVD Drive of your Xbox.
I have never installed any XChips, but I am pretty positive that you flash via a usb cable type of hookup.
The bios you are going to pick depends on what size HD you are going to be using. If you have a HD larger than 137GB pick a bios that ends in .67 like the Xecuter2 4983.67
If you are using a smaller HD than just grab up one that ends in .06 like Xecuter2 4983.06
Where do you find these? Well, you can find them in the usual places, or make a donation to this site and the site owner will make you a VIP member giving you access to kick ass downloads! Everything you need to properly mod your box is here!
Once you get your chip flashed, you still have to format your HD, add applications and lock the HD (if putting in new one)
This is all stuff that you should already know. A lot of people think chipping the machine is the time consuming/difficult part (in some cases it is) but in most cases the software configuration is the bitch.
I don't what Xchip tuts we have, but I'll look around and see what I can find. You have a little path still ahead before you can reap the benefits of your modded box. Don't let the learning curve get you down. Everyone had to go through it! Did you get a usb cable or any type of programmer with your chip?
Also, do you have a burner? If so you could get an autoinstaller to make your life soooooo much easier once you have your chip flashed.
Good luck bud
