I've tried to recode xbmcmail.py to access gmail but have been unsuccessful so far. I think python should be able to do this since some of the gmail checker apps are wtitten in python.
I modified the line
mail = poplib.POP3(SERVER)
to
mail = poplib.POP3_SSL(SERVER,995)
but no luck. Has anyone gotten this working? I'm not a python developer so I'm probably overlooking something. Could the libraries be missing something?

I really haven't the faintest idea about pythin scripting, but perhaps you should talk to forahobby, as he has written a python script for XBMC to browse the HQ Network sites _________________

it shouldnt be too hard but you will need to do alot of testing and editing.
I personally made my own HQ Browser in python using scripts from all over the net.. Im still working on it and combining as much info as i can so you can connect from the xbox to HQ..
I cant believe there are NOT more python programmers writing cool scripts..
anyway, if i had the time i would help but i just have way too much on sorry.
Keep this topic active and lets see who helps out..
You have also just reminded me to upload the HQ Python Broswer to the HQ Downloads area.. Ill get onto it now..
Ill attach the v1 beta of my python code here just for you guys anyway.

sorry for double posting but i went on linksbok and i was able to sign into my gmail easily and have auto login up all u need to do is when ur on ur xbox on linksbok to when u sign in set it to html instead of java _________________ I came i saw i modded.
