hi ppl..its been a while since i was last here ,but i have a problem installing an aladdin xt 4032 chip in what i think is a v1.4 xbox. all install diagrams show different install solder points and nothing realy outlines the 1.4. the problem i'm having is that it just wont work, it boots standard bios fine but just wont boot the chip...
if i double push the power button it just boots to standard bios, but if i hold the power button in it boots but i get a blue screen which i guess is no video at all..the install diagram i chose to go with 1st was off hackdabox's web site. but i have also tried different install diagrams still with same turn out..
now from what i believe the aladdin xt's come with a 1.6 bios installed and maybe that is my problem, but i installed an aladdin chip 2days ago on a 1.2 with no problems at all and i have several of these chips and have tried another one on the current install that i'm having troubles with..so that rules that out...
i have tried different solder points and also the 1.5 method which involves removing certain pins from the LPC header but still no joy..
a couple of things that confuse me about the mainboard and its version is that the large capacitors that are near the modchip are not the same as the ones i have seen in all other xboxs i have viewed, they are silver in colour and maybe a fraction larger..and the other confusing thing is that where it outlines to solder the BT wire there is 5 solder joints and on mine there are only 4 like the 1.6(this from hackdaboxs web)
now also i have seen install diagrams for the aladdin that are referenced to the duox chip and the BT wire is soldered what looks like the power button curcuit..but i have not tried this method yet...
please if anyones got some suggestions as to how to overcome this problem, please speak up as this is starting to p*ss me right off..
also i have tested the outputs of the LPC pins with a multimeter and they are fine...

sorry sean01, not many people deal with aladdin modchips, and our expert on aladdin modchips hasnt been here in awhile, just hang in there until some one comes along that knows what to do. _________________
