Hi All,

A simple problem really but I seem unable to rectify it.

I have a modded 1.4 xbox with a Xenium chip running the latest beta of OS 2.0 and Evolution X 3935 dashboard. I also have the M7 and M8 bioses in c:\bios.

My issues is this. When I boot into M7/3935, my games and apps are listed and I'm able to access them, no issue. However, when I boot into M8/3935 there are no games or apps listed. I know I've missed something. Can someone tell me what it is?

I know both bioses are reading the same evox.ini file on c: because I've edited it to add an additional menu item for the various dashboards I like to 'tinker' with, and this menu is listed when I boot into M7 or M8, but again, I can't access the dashboards listed in M8.

Any advice would be welcome.

Cheers

I had the same issue when using Evox 3921 with Xecuter2 4981.06

Now that I am using the 3935 iwth Xecuter2 4983.67 all is better, although for some odd reason all my apps are listed twice now, so I have to mess with that.

I don't know the cause of it. Hopefully someone esle will be able to shed some light for the both of us. I don't know what modification can be made to the bios, but maybe something can be done.

later man

hi guys,

Sounds like a dashboard issue but it is DEFINATELY BIOS RELATED..
Try changing your evox dash version and see how it goes..

Probably just a bug..

hope you guys get it sorted,

cheers,

Yeah, here's how my issue went down (not to get off the posted topic, sorry).

When I got my machine it was already furnished with the 4981.06 Xecuter2 bios and the dash was EvoX build 3921.

Right from the get go if I went to the "Games on HD' and selected it, I had no game listings. I just blew it off since I could load the list via PxHDD loader since that was what I used to backup my games. However, when I ran across a game that couldn't be backed up via PxHDD loader and I had to use DVD2Xbox, I obviously couldn't launch the game with PxHDD loader. I had to launch an additional dash like Avalaunch or MXM, which was no big whoop. I also couldn't lanch emulators from the "Emulators on HD" selection, as none showed up for that too.

Then I upgraded my bios to 4983.67, but it still didn't change anything with my dash menu's nor did I think it would. Only after I used the autoinstaller to update my dash to build 3935 did the bug appear.

The only thing that it effected were my apps. All of my apps are now listed twice, and each selection launches the app BTW. The only exception was my XBMC, it fell of the list entirely....strange.

At least now my games show up in the list as do my Emu's, so it's a fair trade. I have a feeling I know why my XBMC fell off the list. I believe I may have installed that in the E drive originally because that was the only way I could get apps to show up before. My whole evox.ini file must've been set up strangely.

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it....later guys Smile

Hi Guys,

Fixed it! Not sure why this solution worked, but I don't really care!

Here's what I did...

1. Downloaded EvoTool 1.06

2. Edited the M8 Bios to point to F:

3. Using autoinstaller, installed EvolutionX 3935 to F: Drive

4. Using autoinstaller, renamed c:\evox.ini and c:\evolution.xbe

5. Rebooted into Xenium 2.0 OS

6. FTP'd into the box and copied modded M8 bios to c:\bios

7. Edited Evox.ini file and added MD5 key of new bios file.

8. Added Launch Item in OS 2.0

9. Rebooted. Problems all gone by by!

10. After this, I deleted all the Evox 3935 files I no longer require from the c: drive and rebooted. All works as expected.

Again. I'm not sure why this worked. but it did. My F: ang G: drives now have free space greater than zero and I'm able to access all my games and apps from Evox 3935.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi forahobby,

You're more than welcome. I suppose what you're talking about is one of the most frustrating things about forums. I've spent countless hours scouring posts to find resolutions to some problems which others seem to be able to replicate, but seldom find a solution.

I hope my solution is suitable for others.

I also forgot to mention, I think the M8 bios version I modded was 5838.1.

Does that sound right? I'm not at home at the moment so can't check for sure.

Cheers
