I've got a softmod Sid4.. and Unleash is my dash now..
I was wondering, if I just replaced the files on the E:/dashboard, with the files in the XBMC folder.. Would this let me autoboot into XBMC apon system boot?
I'm thinking this would work, but am uncertain, since unleash is what the softmod autoinstalled..

yes you can. Without rebooting, open your file manager, highlight everything under your boot folder, delete it, and replace with XBMC, then rename XBMC's Default.xbe to Evoxdash.xbe. That should allow you to boot XBMC as your dash and everything will be gravy.
Might I reccomend the new DJB build 1-24-06 ? It has the integrated trainer system and everything, really great to use. DJB, if you see this, could you lemmie know if you posted my script pack on the site? _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

I tried the newest DJB, and it wouldn't load for me.. It would get as far as show the MEdiaCenter Boot screen, then it would give me an error saying something couldn't be found on drive X:
I have no X:
So I've gotten the newest T3CH release: XBMC-CVS_2006-01-24-T3CH, but it locks up when updating the trainer files..
It froze on me when it got to Splinter Cell Pandora, so I backed up my saves, and deleted it from the save game files.. Then it locked up, while updating Soul Caliber 2 (PAL), but I've never played that game on this Xbox, so I have no game save to delete for it to get past that hickup..
Oh well.. So far out of all the XBMC versions I've tried.. I must say that the CLEAN Dec.6,2005 is the most stable version.... But then I'm still kinda new to this mod scene, and probally just need to learn how to do some tweaking of my own..
Now to try to rid myself of Unleash.. I like it and all, but since I use Kia to play online now, XBMC wins as my dash of choice...

Make sure when you're updating that you Are deleting the gamesave for the Media center, that when when it boots up, it loads a new config file for the app. You'll be all good...
Also, clear out your XYZ drives and your cache folder on E, that should allow everything to run smoothly. _________________ "That which does not kill you, only makes you stronger."

okay.. here is what I did, for anyone else wishing to do this..
Easy as pie...
I've tried this only with the SID install....
anyhow.. no need to deleted unleash..
Unleash was installed on the E:/dashboard folder.. All I did was rename the default.xbe, to default.xbe.UNLEASH
and put the default xbe that came with XBMC into the same folder as Unleash..
XBMC was installed into the E:/apps/XBMC folder
after that I just rebooted, and walla.. no Unleash when I booted up..
Works great, and if at anytime I wish to go back to Unleash, I just need to rename the default.xbe in the dashboard folder again.. No need to install anything..
This is what I did, and it worked for me..

Razor,
One question regarding the trainer updating lock-up. Did you remove the "Evt-sdr2.etm" file in the "/system/trainers/" directory?
There is a known bug with this file on the "XBMC-CVS_2006-01-24-T3CH" release. _________________ Xbox v1.0a

yes the trainer works fine. I have removed the currupt save..
The only thing I wish I could figure out how to do, is use a save game feature, like what is used in Unleash... I love the option of hitting the (y) and pulling down a saved game file for various games... But I do so love the trainers..
I'm glad that they do not work while KAI is running.. That was my real big worry with this new trainer setup.. It'sa hard enogh to find a clean game now-a-days...

I'm running sid 3.0, and there's no E:\dashboard...
Is there some other file I should be looking to replace/rename? I want to keep the sid3.0 open tray menu too!!!
thanks!

When you softmodded, the dashboard might be installed on any drive partition.. It just so happens mine was on the E: drive..
What dash are you using now? Unleash?? If so, just find the folder that has Unleash in it, and rename the default.xbe to unleash.xbe and put the default.xbe from the xbmc folder into the same folder as Unleash..
Also make sure that xbmc is in the folder: E:/apps/xbmc
