I tried E-mailing the Aladdin dude but he never responded (he is probably a busy man selling all those great chips) so here is my question:

In previous Aladdin Chips (64/Plus) you have to put DPDT switch on a 1.6 Xbox to be able to turn ON/OFF the chip so you can go on Xbox Live. The Aladdin XT's however don't need a switch, they work just like on any other Xbox Version, just hold the power button for 2 seconds to activate it and tap the power button to disactivate it.

The Aladdin website claims that the Aladdin XT is a clone of the Aladdin Live, so does that mean that I won't need to put a switch if I install an Aladdin Live on my 1.6 Xbox?

Hello due,
busy yes, sorry I haven't got around to your mail yet.
NONE of the previous versions of Aladdin 64 and 32 and plus need a switch except copies based on the first code of the Aladdin 64!

There are two versions of 1.6 Xbox that we know about, Aladdin XT needs a switch for 1.6b. Where as Aladdin Live has now been recoded to make it automatic on all versions again.

If anyone has an Aladdin Live that they have any issue with, they can e-mail me and I will give them an address to return the chip and we will send out an immediate replacement with the new code.

The Mini Aladdin also works on all versions without a switch...

So if you have an Aladdin 64 that needs a switch it's most likely a copy.
Aladdin Live has been around for a few months... XT a couple of weeks, I'll leave it for you to work out :-}

The next official release will be the Mini Aladdin ...
It looks like it will be only 2 wires for versions 1.0 -1.5 and maybe 8 wires for the 1.6.

Send me a PM and I'll arrange for you to get a chip which works without a switch.

Well there is a little problem. I live in Poland Wink I need this for a guy which will install the aladdin chip into Xbox. They have aladdin advance. So I just need a diagram on how to do it. Someone told me that you need a basic mechanical switch (whatever it means). So it should be pretty easy but I need some 100% accurate guidelines on how to do it for this guy who will install it.
