Posted: Sun Aug 15, 2004 1:03 am Post subject: Autoinstaller 1.2 conflicting with xbox live, please help
Hi everybody,
I have just added evox 3935 and some apps using the magical Xbox-hq autoinstaller ver 1.2 beta. Now, when I select my name from the available xbox live accounts, the loading screen freezes before it arrives at the password screen. I have also tried to access Xbox live through the m$ dash. When I try that It says, "an update is required, your xbox will be restarted to recieve this update" then It restarts but doesn't update. No matter which game I try it does this. Also, the games I am trying to load xbox live in are origianals, so that's not the problem. Someone please help. Thanks so much. _________________ Xbox Version 1.0

Possible Progress Made:
I deleted all the files from my C and E drives and reloaded the backup from before the autoinstaller. Now I have no evox but can load the retail kernal bios, access the m$ dash and play on live no problem. Is there any way to use the autoinstaller without formating C and E and without updateing the m$ dash? (I just want evox and apps!) Thanks for any answers. _________________ Xbox Version 1.0

hey mate,
I wish RealMccloy was here.. he just had the same problem and has a fix for it... All you have to do is use the autoinstaller again and get back to where yo where with EVOX on your XBOX as a DASHBOARD and all the apps.. Once you have done that you will still get the error about your dashboard needing to be updated.
In the VIP Downloads sectoin you will find the M$ Dashboard Kernal files you need t FTP into your XBOX C:\ Parition after you have finished with the autoinstaller.
THIS IS ONLY A PROBLEM WITH NEWER XBOXES..
Dont worry it is fixable.. DJB is working on the next release of the auto-installer very soon..
before I deleted the autoinstaller files and backed up the original I tried to add that m$ update.Here is what that helped: Before I added the new m$ kernal files, the m$ dash xbox live screen froze and restarted the m$ dash. With the new files added it would say: needs to update and restart bla bla bla. So I don't think that is a solution. If it is, perhaps I was installing them wrong. I just ftp'd the contents of the new m$ kernal folder to my C: drive. was that incorrect? Thanks for the help. _________________ Xbox Version 1.0

Just grabbing that fix from RealMcCloy and I'm about to insert it into the new auto-installer now.

Sorry but i havent done this fix recently and cant remember off the top of my head how i did it.. Im thinking all i did is EXACTLy as you say.. FTP the files over to the c: partition!1
Realmccloy only 2 days ago did this and fixed the problem on a v1.5 he had.. If only he wasnt at the beach he could help you instantly..
Just keep at it mate.. IT CAN BE FIXED..
l8r and hope you get it sorted soon so you can play LIVE again.
