while i am waiting for my xenium chip, i want to softmod my xbox. is there a problem putting in the chip after softmodding? how is the best way to do it.

No, no problem. Once you get your chip, you may want to restore the retail dash if you want to get on Live. If that doesn't interest you, you can leave it alone.
