Does anyone know where I can download the "eeprom.bin" file? Because I really really need it. It isn't in my Xbox or my cousin's, so now I have to create an xbox HDD with "xboxhdm". I unfortunately got to the step where I need the eeprom.bin file, and I looked in every folder through and through and I could not find it while FTP'd into the Xbox. Please someone give me good news...

you`ll need to do a backup with evox
and then it`ll be in a folder called backup on E I think
OR
Use configmagic and it`ll create backups on the root of E,
the eeprom.bin has to be called "eeprom.bin" all in lower case,
so you`ll have to rename the ones you`ll get from configmagic.
bE carefull with configmagic & don`t unlock a hdd on a softmodded xbox.
Config Magic works fine just use the back-up selection and check the E partition for it. You will have to rename it because Configmagic names eeprombackup.bin. So FTP it to your PC and rename it EEPROM.bin that way it will be recognized when you do yor HDD change. _________________ I believe V1.0

Sounds a little risky to me. What do you think about Pirrups tutorial on recovering harddrive?

There isn't anything risky about it, I had to do to my X-box worked no problem. Just run congfigmagic select back-up and it's done. Follow Pirrups instructions for upgrading to a larger drive but before you reboot to Linux change the EEPROMbackup.bin to EEPROM.bin. Maybe I've misunderstood but it sounded to me like you were replacing your drive with a larger one. _________________ I believe V1.0
