I created a EEPROM.BIN file using config magic but just want to confirm that it is a very small size 1KB. Is this the size it shouldbe?
I haven't seen this posted but I created an FTP connection to my XBOX using Windows XP, I was having trouble with FlashXP. I'll post how I did it if anyone is interested and if it isn't already posted.

Hey Cuda69!
Ya know I have to be honest and tell you I've never looked to see what the proper size for an eeprom should be. I'm thinking that it should be 256k or less but 1?
Looks like I've got homework.
Anyone else know? _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

Well I did the back-up on Config Magic and it really didn't seem like anything happened. Must have because now I have an EEPROM.bin plus an EEPROM.cfg and .txt files. The .bin file is very small so I just wanted to make sure it worked before I start preparing my new HDD.

Softmod, then it's even more important that we get this right the first time. It's a lot easier for a chip to recover from a mistake than a softmod.
We could use Dangermouse at this point and see what he might know. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

yeah, should be 256k, or at least mine are.
isn`t there eeprom`s in your e:\?
EEPROMBeforebackup.bin or something, Renamed to eeprom.bin these should be your eeprom.
I thought I had followed all the instructions when I softmodded and when I went to E:MS\Back-up there wasn't an EEPROM file located in there. So I used Config Magic to create it. Now I just selected Backup and when I checked the E: partition it had EEPROM.bin EEPROM.cfg and EEPROM.txt. I'm sure when I FTP'd it to my PC it was only 1KB though. _________________ I believe V1.0

If not too late, consider repeating the procedure and see where it takes you. But it would make sense that it should be 256k. Thanks blighty. _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th

I concur with blighty and shark2th, the file should be 256k. Maybe try it though evox and see what that gives you. _________________ Xenium Ice 2.3.1 OS
