Codejunkies with SID? I'm gonna have to check this out, because seriously I didn't think they would have it on there (looks like it's time for them to start checking their gamesaves I think).

yer i saw an xbox gamesave on codejunkies b4 as well, its called Linux Installer Profile i think and someone had submitted it into the user submitted section (community), so codejunkies didn't add it themselves.

Yea I figured it would've been a user-submitted coz I doubt Codejunkies would be giving away a chance to mod your box. I might contact them about it still and let them know it's up there (coz it shouldn't be).

Might look as though we submitted it in the long run, I would contact them and alert them, don't want any bad publicity. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Any chance you can give me some links to it, on a quick browse-through I couldn't find it (checked the US Codejunkies btw).

THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU...... DJB..... He did download it to the hdd from the memory card, but as soon as he did, the xbox rebooted and it came up in the mod...... That's as much information as I could get from him, but he was positive that it asked him no questions first... It all happened pretty fast. That game save is on codejunkies.com, under saves, under splinter cell, called linux profile. I still don't know what made him grab that one out of all the ones that were there. I've already downloaded the AID 2.0, but I had a problem getting the 7-zip program to download.... I waited an hour before I finally quit it. and that was on a computer with 2.8ghz processor and 512 mb ram. I'm going to try to download it again today. Thanks again for all your help. I found this site only because the mod program had a skin for xbox-hq.com. IMagine that!

I couldn't get to the winrar sight. It keeps telling me it doesn't exist. However, sourceforge.net works, so I will download 7-zip from there. I was just wondering if you guys went to codejunkies and checked out that linux profile yet. I took the action replay away from my son for now. If he ever gets it back, I will probably only allow non-community downloads from there.
DJB - Those AID instructions seem pretty intense. Don't suppose you would come to the states and install for me? lol I still haven't downloaded 7-zip yet..... hoping to tonight, and working on hdd this weekend. This is probably a stupid question, but do I need to follow ALL the steps in the AID instructions? Just wondering.
I'm not totally convinced that he did this totally by accident either. He has been asking for a mod chip forever, and I told him I would have to look into mod chips. WEll, I am learning all kinds of stuff about modding now! AGain, thanks for everyones help. Laurie

Well, basically you could make the softmod installation 100% and not need to worry about the modchip, and the action replay is the key to it obviously
7-Zip should be fine to extract the AID 2 package too, actually I support 7-zip myself because it's a freeware product.
Firstly you'll need to install SID 3 onto your Xbox to get it ready to use AID 2, once you have access to AID 2 it will give you all the functions you need to clean up the hdd, set up evolutionx again (or something similar like unleashx which is a lot newer), plus various other things.
Basically it's not an overnight fix, you really need to get into some reading to learn about what you can do with the xbox, and once you start you'll learn things you thought would not be possible.
You and your son have started on a long journey, and we'll try and help you as much as we can. Start by trying to read some of the older forum posts with ppl asking how to get started out etc, you could learn a thing or two from here. The most important thing though is start a new thread (like you did in this case) exaplining what you want to do, what programs/tools you have that you might require, and later on when you can find out your xbox version etc.

I don't know if TheModGod is up to it, but he is a trusted installer on the site. If for any reason, you seem to be in way over your head and can't fix it, contact TheModGod.
www.themodgod.com I think, anyways, he is on vacation till Aug.1 or so.
I am sure he would be able to handle it for a decent charge and save you the headache. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Yes I'd suggest this as a possibility too if ModGod can do it. He fully understands how my tools work so he'll have no problem is setting up the xbox.
