ok i was flashing my bios last night and i guess i put the wrong one on there and i flashed it so after it turned off annd i turn it back on it stays on for 2 secs and then shuts off i cant even get the dvd drive to load anything so if you have a solution weather it be buy a modchip or not tell me i need a way to fix it thanxxx _________________ xbox v1.0

i did solder the tsop solder points like 2 days ago and i finally remember what bios i used to flash it it is so wrong i dont beleive i did that big of a mistake! i used X3 bios _________________ xbox v1.0

Damn dude, only X2 can be used. Just because it is a better bios doesn't mean it will work.
You gotta look into this stuff. Especially for a TSOP, its pretty final..
Well, you need a bios like x2 4983.06 for your box. I think that the TSOP is 1mb, so you get a x2CL on there, but that requires an .ini file, so you would have to becareful not to delete for your settings are lost. You could replace..
But I don' tknow any other way out of this jam than getting a modchip.
Don't skimp get a good one. This way you will have a large enough flash chip where you could store a standard stable bios and one you can play around with.

Let me also add... .There might still be that HACKED X3 bios floating around the net, said to have been used on other modchips. Is this one you might have uploaded?
You have to realize the x3 bios is like a cromwell OS piled into one. I don't think the XBOX can handle it all that well. B/c the x3 can prepare HDD, change settings real time, adjust proper settings thru the chip b/c there is a pcb between the power pcb and the mobo. A lot goes into an X3.
A hacked might have worked. But I don't konw that for sure. _________________ XBOX v1.6

well it looks i will be getting a chip the X3 of coarse because its flashed with X3 but heres what it does i turn on my xbox on and i cannot do anything because it checks the ide srives and then shuts off it will not stay on for more than 3 seconds man i knew there was somthing wrong with that bios well at least it happened to my xbox and not my friends _________________ xbox v1.0

Dprules, its hard to follow you man, use some puncuation, please. Periods won't kill you and it helps people reading your stream of conciousness.
Well you don't need an x3 b/c it flashed with an x3, thats not how it works. The bios for that to work has to be on the chip itself. You can get any other chip, its just your TSOP is corrupt at the moment. Once you have another working bios, you will be able to do another tsop. At least you should. _________________ XBOX v1.6

Well then there is three. X3 I feel is the best, b/c of its bios (and it will soon have a cromwell based OS for cloning drives and the like according to team xecuter.) They have the most first party option available and everything they put out is quality
Then there is Xenium, A very good chip, Has many of its on unique features, Cromwell OS for menu and such. Nice solderless adapters.
Finally SmartXX v.22 has its own features as well and comes witha linux disk. A good chip also,
Those are the best money can buy....only thing the last 2 are in packages usually, so they can get a bit $$$.. the x3 is $$ by itself. but they go a few bucks more. _________________ XBOX v1.6

aight a X3 it is.but when i looked on how to install it, the holes you need to put the pins into you should know what im talking about. well when i look on my mobo there all soldered up and i need to how to get around this or a way through it remember money is no object here. laterz _________________ xbox v1.0
