Im sure this has been done before but i am not exactly sure how i did this. I just put my xecutor 2.3 in and install evoX and it was working great. I could get to the ms dash from evoX and now for some reason i cannot. i dont know if i accidently deleted some files while connected to ftp or would it be because my brother tired to boot it up with the mod shut off? is there a way to fix this??

Are you saying that the selection isn't even there, or when you try to launch the MS dashboard you get nothing?
Do you have a switch to turn off your modchip? If so and you switch mod chip off, what happens when you turn on xbox?
Asmunch has a lot of xecuter experience, so after you give a little more info I am sure he can help you out...among others here too... _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

okay what it does when i turn off the modchip is the same as when i go to launch the ms dashboard from evolution X. It goes to a black screen with green letter that sais "service required call customer support" and then it sais it in a bunch of other languages.

Are there any error code numbers like 16 or something?
Hopefully, you just need to load your MS dashboard again. Did you remove the dash accidently, or rename it for some reason?
Using FTP see if you can locate the MS Dash file so you an make sure it's there...if it is, and it's named right, try FTP'ing a new MS dash there and see if your problem goes away.
Maybe some others will have an idea or two for you as well. I am not sure what the screen would say if your MS Dash was missing so I don't know if I am right. I am sure others with more experience would know for sure now that you have supplied some additional info. _________________ Good Deals: Death@Hand, funkydopenloven, StaticMind, Slamscaper, PorscheXboxter

yeh thats kind of what i was thinking was the problim. I still have the old ms dash but i think its just some of its supporting files in the c: drive that i may have accidentilly eraced but i am not sure since i dont know whats sposed to be in the c: drive when it is first purchased...all i have in there is six directories: Audio, Bios, Fonts, Skin, Trainers, xodash. than i have 5 other fiels: evox.ini, XBox Book.xtf, XBox.xft, xboxdash.xbe (evox dash), and msxboxdash.xbe (the microsoft xbox dash that doesnt work). and thats all i have so idk if i am missing files or whats going on. any ideas?

okay i did some reading and i am even more confused. The error messgae i am getting is an error 21 and it only occurs wheni try to load the msdash or boot the box with the mod switched off. i tired changing the files around i changed msxboxdash.xbe back to xboxdash.xbe and the former xboxdash.xbe(evoX) to evoxdash.xbe since the chip will boot that first anyway. So i go that part figured out the only problim is that i still get the error 21 for some reason and i did not make a backup of my c: partition so i have no clue as to what to do from here?

Error 21 is somewhat confusing to me.
This is the info I have on Error 21:
21 - unknown,
This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just mean's its been booted by the flag.
Now, if that isn't confusing...I don't know what the hell is.
I am wondering if the original problem was a corrupt HD to begin with.
You could always use DJB's autoinstaller to reformat the HD and see where that brings you. The autoinstaller will format your HD, install the evox dash, and some apps to get you going again. Then you can always download MS dashboard and replace that too...
The only thing that you need to do is become a VIP member via donation. Then you will have access to all kinds of files, downloads, and even will be able to submit a VIP Ticket.
The ticket is like a service call type of thing, where you will get one on one answers from someone who knows exactly what you can do. It's like technical support for modded xbox's...you can't beat it
Its so much worth the 10.00 donation.

ok..
So all you want to do is load the M$ Dashboard from your EVOX DASH??
If you do then all you need to do is FTP into your XBOX c:\ PARITION and open evox.ini.. Here is a example of what my evox.ini looks like:
Code:
[Misc]
# Upgraded HD config Created by SlaYer for the SlaYer's EvoX Auto-Installer v2.5
AutoLaunchGames = No
AutoLaunchDVD = No
DVDPlayer = "f:\Apps\dvdx\default.xbe"
AutoLaunchAudio = No
#AudioPlayer = "c:\xboxdash.xbe"
MSDashBoard = "c:\xboxdash.xbe" <<---- THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT!
UseFDrive = Yes
UseGDrive = Yes
SkinName = Armageddon
IGR = Yes
UseItems = No
ScreenSaver = 10
Fahrenheit = No
ShadeLevel = 90
EnableSMART = Yes
HDD_Temp_ID = 194
DebugTSR = No
ChameleonLed = 15
GameRegion = 0
[Network]
Basically just check on your XBOX C: DRIVE to make sure the file is there.. If its not you may need to get it from a backup or download the XBOX-HQ AUTO INSTALLER which can copy the required files for you automatically!
