I'll always thought that when you connect a device through a AV channel to a TV it will 'boot' to that AV channel when the device is turned on. Doesn't seem to happen with my XBOX is that correct, I've tried AV 2, AV 1 and composite (red, yellow and white) always have to select channel with remote. Lazy i know but just wondering?

That won't happen, unless you have turned the TV off and the last channel you were watching was the AV channel you were trying to see when you turn the TV back on. On the other hand if you have anything connected to an S-Video connection on your tv then the AV channel gets switched to S-Video unless you have a second AV connection on the front of the TV then you can have the S-Video and also teh second AV channel. But the basic answer to your question is, no you can't set a TV to start on a particular channel unless it had been the last channel being used when it was turned off.

Let me further explain, if for example I am watching tv through aerial connection and power on my dvd or video it will automatically turn to that respective AV channel and when power off the device it will go back to the TV channel.
Just wondering why it doesn't happen with XBOX AV connection.

Dude, the only way that the TV would switch over to the correct channel automatically is if it is on a SCART connection, NOT an aerial connection alone because there is nothing but a terestial signal coming in on the type of connection, where as a scart can send an actual signal to the tv's processor to switch the channel to the correct one automatically. Xbox doesn't use a scart connection, it uses AV, although you can but scart adapters, although i can't guarantee if it would switch the channel. Anyway, is it that hard to actually press 1 or 2 buttons on a simple remote to change the channel?????

Thanks you've answered it , supplied in the UK is a scart connector that the 3 leads plug into, not making it a scart just enabling connection to scart socket.
I did say I way being lazy in my first post.
Thanks anyway
Regards
