I came across a forum discussion where people were talking about being charged basically a covert $90 fee due to being banned. Now in reading this, no other site has any news about this... and you would think this would be headline stuff. Some says it's crap, some says they've gotten charged. I don't have XBL and don't intend to pay M$ for something I can get elsewhere for free, but has anyone else met up with this supposed fee? Just curious.

See: http://www.xbox100.com/forums/showthread.php?p=59341#post59341
for the read.

I read a thread where someone said if you were banned & requested a power cord they would mail you a fine/fee to be unbanned. Sort of like late registration. But I dont think there is much truth to it....yet

This would suck for people who dont use live or sold their EEPROM for other reasons. They may, in theory, start getting fines for boxes they dont even have anymore.

See, in the threads I've read, I didn't get that impression myself. I mean, here are people standing up and saying "it happened to me...." but how it happened to them is so very unclear. That's why I thought I'd ask about it. Thanks for the input jiggysmb.

I made a new live account yestarday and I read through the agreement you agree to, too be able to play on xbox live, and it dosn't say anywhere that they can "fine" you. You can be banned from the service, and they can stop you from making a new account, but they can't fine you. I have also had 4 boxes banned from xbox live, all with different gamertags, but all on the same credit card info, but I haven't been fined yet, and the 4 boxes just got banned all under 2 months ago, and 2 were last week.

So do they ban the account or the box it self. Yesterday I was trying to setup xbox live again to play halo (restored ms backup). And when it was setting it all up it said cannot connect to xbox live you xbox may have been modified. So if I got a diffrent xbox would I not be able to use that one with my gammer tag?
