Hi guys (Big shout to forahobby)
Just got hold of an xbox modded.. It had a problem with power up.. on, off, on, off, on with flashing green/red light..
After much searching and reading I found I had an old DuoX v1 chip!!
(knowning its old cos its now disconitued)
It had a bad conection somewhere on it.. Got it working and the xbox now boots fine, for now..lol
2 questions..
1. How do I rip games & play from my hard drive?
2. I have a 80gig hard drive spare in my pc, how do I convert it to xbox from my pc???
I am so new I dont know what alot of you talk about and its straght over my head, im a fast learner and really need a heads up on how to get this old reck of an xbox running with the best software, without changing the chip for now..

Since you are a vip what you should first do is download one of the newer bios' and make sure your mod chip is flashed with the latest bios. This way, you wont have any issues backing up games or launching DVD-R's and such.
Then, you should download Autoinstaller Deluxe. AID1.0.1
When this is burned to a disk properly, it will allow you to install all the apps you need in order to backup your Xbox games to your hard drive.
It will also format your 80GB HD, prepare it, and lock it if you want it locked.
You should spend some time reading posts, tutorials, and such so you get a better idea of what is next.
I am unfiamilar how to flash your chip as I never installed one of those, but we have some duoX guru's here that will be glad to help you.

You will be able to get AID from the VIP download server. Just look for the link in the VIP section of the forum. You should find it, if not make a post in the VIP area.
