I just installed my xenium in my xbox v1.0 via pinheader. I installed the retail kernel in my tsop and x2 4983.06 bios in my flash. I loaded in my aid dvd-rw and hit the launch x2 4983 bios. It than proceeds to the usual startup screen for xbox (blob thing) but instead of microsoft at bottom, it says x2 or something like that. Than it loads the M$ dashboard and says it can't read my disc and make sure it is a game, dvd, etc. Did I do something wrong, and why can't it read my aid dvd (I burned it exactly the same as the x2 4983 bios)? _________________ XBOX- V1.0

try a cold boot .
if still not working you will need to use other media (dvdr)

Just to make sure, you did burn the iso file right? Also as stated by pirrup, try using other media. It took me a while before I found the right one. My xbox reads DVD-R or DVD+R but will not read any RW media. Then again I have a Thompson _________________

Im not sure how to do a cold boot, please explain. And also, do I burn it the same way as the bios, because that is what I did and my bios installed correctly I think? _________________ XBOX- V1.0

cold boot means :
put the disk in tray and power down the xbox.
Now power on the xbox.
i don't think its burned the same, the bios wasn't a .iso was it?

the bios is a bin file and AID is an iso file. I recommend using DVD decrypter to burn AID. Make sure you set the mode to iso write. _________________
