Just a question the latest version of XBMC i want to use as the dash so all i do is download it from VIP and unRAR it and put it in C: is that all or do i have to change some files.
do i have to change something for the games and apps to show ??? _________________ X Box 1.0

Hmmmm1972,
I have XBMC as my dash but it doesnt have a games list..
You actually have to choose 'MY FILES" and then hunt for the default.xbe in the correct directory..
I dont exactly play with XBMC all day but i still havent found a option to have just a games list.. It sux but apart from that its everything i need and want from my xbox..
MANUALLY INSTALLING XBMC AS DASH:
First you need to check what bios you are running.. (There are so many hacks etc). Anyway, once you know what bios you have you can tell what file it is going to boot first..
Most newer bioses look for f:\evoxdash.xbe e:\evoxdash.xbe and then c:\evoxdash.xbe... So you may just need to rename the default.xbe of the XBMC you downloaded to evoxdash.xbe so you bios will boot it on STARTUP.
anyway, im hoping your following what im saying.. Im trying to make it asw simple as possible mate..

If you are going to do the manual method like forahobby mentions, you probably want to use the M8 bios that isn't for the 1.6 machines... That way, you can open it up in EvTool.
I see you have a 1.0 so just make sure you dont use the M8_16 bios, it's not going to help.
If you are using X2 4983 you can't minipulate that bios, but older X2 bios' you can using XBtool. But, I don't suggest using antiquated bios', just get the proper M8 bios.

As a VIP member you would be able to download AID 1.0.1 and let it install XBMC as your dashboard.

I have always been a fan of the X2 bios, but the latest ones have not been able to be manipulated like the M8 bios.
