I just used the xbox-hq auto install 1.01 to format my hard drive. I formated it and installed M$ Dash and evo x dash. I also formated the Cache Drives and restarted. Now when I try and start the xbox with the X bit mod chip with evo M 7 bios the xbox turns on, then off, then on again and starts flashing red. If I turn it on without the mod chip on it boots into M$ dash and ask for the time everytime. What should I do?

HI,

can you still boot the Auto Installer at all??
Im guessing you cant but just want to confirm it with you.

Sounds like your bios on the XBIT modchip has become corrupted or your modchip is misaligned etc etc.. Did you install the modchip..??
If you did you can just check it out..

Formatting the HDD will not cause your xbox to stop ever.. The Auto Installer does format but will always copy all the required files to your xbox after it and once you have chosen those options it will be fine.

If you xbox can not boot the AIDELUXE anymore then im thinking the modchip or bios have probs.. That where i would start.

hope that gets you started.

I cant boot to the auto installer or anything if the mod chip is on. I installed it myself and everything was working fine. The weird thing is that even when I boot with the oringal bios it always resets the time and I have to enter it just like if it was a new xbox.

What exactly do the cache drives hold? and could that format have messed anything up? And if so is there anyway to go back and put it on?

I would understand if the mod chip went bad but then why is the non mod chip boot messing up?
