Posted: Tue Apr 05, 2005 10:47 am Post subject: Help With Spiderchip V1.1 install on 1.5 xbox
Can someone help me. I am installing a spiderchip v1.1 on a v1.5 xbox. The only wire i need is the e wire. I installed it and the it powers on goes offf powers on goes off, and then powers on and stays on black screen. When I disconect the e wire going to the do the chips stays on but the regular xbox boots. I tried reinstalling it a whole bunch of times and it does the same. There is no solder in the lpc holes,it came with the new washers so all of the pin touch, Could it be the e wire that is doing thet, i tired makeing it touch the do hole in alot of different ways but stills does the same thing. I dont know what else to do, I was going to try the pin header install but I cant find them for sale anywhere, and another question on the pin header insatll, does the spiderchip connect to the pin header through 12 hole connector that you would use to flash the chip? I would rather do a regular install but any info would help.

I dont know much about the spider chip but yes.......the chip connects to the pin header there.

Ok, I got the pin header and soldered it to the board and the chip boots fine, Installed new x2 bios fine. But now the audio works but it has chops and pops in it, any idea what it could be, Could a long do wire around 5 in do it, or is one of the solder points on the pinheader not making good contact, and if so which pin on the pin header is responseable for the sound?
