hi man,

I have the Pioneer A06 DVD-R/RW burner and works fine with all standalone dvd players and xbox/ps2..

I also have a RICOH DVD+RW burner but stand alone dvd players dont like these discs.. My xbox finds them ok but.. Work good..

I would suggest the pioneer as Roadrash and Myself both have tested and works perfectly..

I second that. I've got an AO4 and AO5 and they both work fine. The -R burners are the way to go at the moment due to they are compatible with everything that I know of. +R media is more expensive and harder to find plus there are compatibility problems with some devices.

I don't know if you have computer swap meets in WA, but usually they are the cheapest place for that sort of thing. I find that the new Princo is a pretty good all around media. They usually sell down here for $2.50.

TigerDirect.com has cheap prices on DVD burners, might want to check it out before you spend over 300, they have some for around 170-180. Also ebay if you cant find what your looking for at TigerDirect.
