It works perfect, But when I select it to boot to the orignal bios i believe thats the name the intro thing starts, then says XBOX then I get a service code thing 07 which i looked up and its a HDD timeout. Is the only way to get this fixed is to get a new hard drive!!!!!!!!!??????? HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ This is my signature.

Actually, it's an IDE cable unless he switched it to an ATA.
Basically, you should have three connectors on the IDE/ATA Cable. One connects at the mobo, one connects at the DVD drive, and then finally, the last connects to the HD.
If he connected one end to the HD and one end to the DVD drive, that means there was nothing connecting to the motherboard. Frankly, I'm a little shocked that a modder would not know that you must have your devices connected to the motherboard for all to work correctly. You should first start by buying an authentic Xbox IDE cable.
Your eerpom backup won't do you any good, that's not an issue here right now. What you need to do is install the new HD and IDE cable.
What mod chip are you using? Is it flashed yet??
If so, then you should get yourself an autoinstaller disk that contains dashboards and applications. Then, you can boot the Xbox with the disk in the drive. It will allow you to format your new HD. Once your HD is formatted you can then install the MS Dashboard, the hacked dashboard, and all of your applications.
I would be making the person who modded the Xbox pay you for the damage he caused.
