If you cant tell, I'm a newb. I am just getting started on modding my machine, and would like to make backup copies of my games, will this accomplish that? Also like i said im new, so any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Dave

you dont have to tell us you r a noob ,
your question sais it all ,
you can not copy oryginal xbox games on the computer ,
you have to extract them from the xbox via FTP then create xbox iso to burn them on dvd _________________ Xbox v1.0/1.1/1.5/1.6a

Spend a little time looking at the forums. I think that the easiest and definately cheapest way to go is the softmod. Once you have the mod installed you can use dvd2xbox (which is part of the softmod installer package) to backup your games to the xbox. Since you have copied the game back-up to the xbox you can then put your original games on the shelf and don't worry about spending money on rewritable dvd's.

Dave,
Don't be embarrased, all of us were newbs once, including myself. Basically what you do is hook up your xbox to your network and transfer the files over to your computer. Then you have to make the an xiso, from there they can be burned onto your dvd-r media through dvd-decvypter or something else of the likes.
Everyone Else,
Cut him some slack. Like I said above, you were all newbs once, and this is a place for friendly conversation, not wise remarks. If you don't have something constructive to say, don't say anything at all.

Man don't softmod if you have a few bucks and can install a decent chip.
You won't regret it _________________ http://twitter.com/HQ_Shark2th
