Just installed the software installer deluxe 1.01, and it worked like a charm, congrats on a job well done!

From what I read around, I've learned that this seems to use the fonts replacing exploit, but I didn't find much info on the cons and pros.

Specifically, I'm wondering if the clock loop problem that seemed to be one problem with the fonts exploit is affecting this installer. I'd prefer knowing before hand since I will be unplugging and replugging this box often in a while, and it might be unplugged for more than a couple of hours.

If not using the fonts, is it using the UXB exploit? If not, I'm guessing it can be installed after booting to evox and having access to the ftp server.

Thanks for your time!

As far as I know, SID uses UXE exploits, which in a way are font exploits, but they are also xbe exploits. There have not been any reports of clock loop with this, but as with all exploits, it's always possible, I know I've personally left my machine unplugged for more than a week (blasphemy I know). And it worked fine using UXE. I've since redone the softmod with SID v1.01 and no problems with it.

Thanks, if it's using UXE (I typoed in my first post) it indeed is closer to what I need, since I don't intend to use live, and mostly buy games that probably won't even try to update the dashboard anyways. Mostly into rpgs, and some other original games.

Mostly use my box as a media player and a way to play old games, since the output is pretty sharp on an HDTV. =) But I somtimes have to unplug it and bring it with me when I go away for a while, and it can be a while before I can plug it back on, so knowing there's little to no chance of clock loop is a relief.
