Hi all...
Just wondering if there is such a thing as a bootable dvd that will wipe and restore your hdd to factory settings? This would be done with original m$ equipment and no mod chip. Thanks!

Not any i know of...all bootable CDs people (other then MS) create have unsigned code and are not bootable by a stock xbox. _________________ Xbox v1.0

What happens is directly after the inital splash screen, I get a black screen that is distorted at the top. I can't boot a normal game and I can't get to any sort of dashbord, ms or otherwise. The unit has been softmodded. I have a warranty wiith BestBuy on the unit but no one has it in stock anywhere. It will accept an IP from my router but I can't FTP to it either. So Im limited on options.

hmm...if you take it back they'll probably give you shit about trying it mod it. My guess is if you cant get a dash, boot a game (or anything else) and cant FTP then you have a nice doorstop. You could do a HD swap but you would need a chip (without one a diff HD wouldnt boot as the EEPROMs are diff). If you cant get it fixed shoot me a PM or emai with the specs (what version, what you tried to do ect) and I'll buy it from you if the price is right. _________________ Xbox v1.0
