hi there all, be gentle this is my virgin post!
here is a general question on softmods.
relating to australian xbox...... so pal box's
can all pal versions in models 1.0/1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5/ (is there a 1.6 ?)
be done with a softmod!
yes or no.... and which please...
given that some of these can....will some need due to there model additional software changes for this to take place ...such as a change of dashboard upgrade or downgrade and which will need this!
if i choose to load the softmod on these will all have a choice of ftp/orginal xbox memory card/usb dongle or adapted usb memory card
can someone list the complete parts software and hardware for the job.
such as flash ftp + crossover cat5 pc with xp
etc...
cause every thing i read gets back to this isfor usa version...or not pal...
can some one help me wade through the depth of incorrect info and get to the the ""RIGHT SKINNY" please...

ok i got a little closer.....in all the reading i found that alot of info is dated
the info i got was ...all regions and all models of xbox
can be done with the ""XBE"" exploit
ALSO that 3 games can be used for this are:::
Me007: Agent under Fire save-game-exploit
MechAssault save-game-exploit
SplinterCell save-game-exploit
now has anyone anything else to add please do

You are correct, with the new UXE "Uber XBE Exploit" all regions, and all known versions can be softmodded. I say known b/c they may come out with yet another dashboard that fixed the holes.
Anyways it looks like you have a pretty good idea on what is going on, I prefer to use an action replay to do my softmods. Many people though hook a controller to the usb port of the computer, and use it as an action replay cradle, along with a memory card. You can get the software off of www.codejunkies.com
Anyway, you can't ftp to your box until it is modded in some fashion, so the easiest way is to get the hacked game saves onto a memory card, then to the xbox. You can do this with the action replay, usb mem stick, max drive (same thing as a usb mem stick, just already formatted and comes with the adapter), make a controller to pc usb adapter, many different ways, depends on what you have available. _________________

ok...now thus far i have done the following!
downloaded and installed action reply on the pc!
i have formatted a usb memory drive via the xbox ....and its ok
for further action....
i have also downloaded this ltools pack v 1 7 5 pal inside that pack was
2 main folders.......
5553000c which had saveimage.xbx / titlemeta.xbx/ titleimage.xbx 8d5bce250b35 with 2 files in it profile & savemeta.xbx
21585554 which has 000000000000 / titleimage.xbx/ titlemeta.xbx/
inside 000000000000 was linux/default shins/files/install.xbx/mxm/menu/saveimage.xbx/savemeta.xbx
default skins contained pictureinitrd/s.
linux contained default.xbx/initrd/linuxboot.cfg/vmlinux
files has...bioses with 2 zips evoxm8 x2 4981
ude-1 fonts...has bert1 bert2 ernie and s
ude-2 fonts bert
boxplorer/defaultskin/dualboot bld/dualboot evox/evox/gsave/menu/menu2/nkpatcher/pbl/pbl-lite/pbl metoo/

so i take it this is the full kit of goodies!

Like I mentioned in my PM to you, you need the action replay software, and when you plug in your usb drive, just use those drivers for it, if it autodetects, then you will have to go into the device manager, and set it to use the AR drivers so that the Action Replay software can see the device. _________________
