I have been using ccXgui to share files from my PC to xbox, but it is annoying to always have to start & restart the program each time i need to add a share. I would like to be able to access my home network but when I go into 'workgroup' it says 'Access denied'. I have set up my shares to allow everyone on the network. Any suggestions?
edit
Well I edited the XBMC.xml file and changed all the smb logins to Admin/password & changed all ip from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.100 and all is well! Just thought this may be helpful to someone _________________ LED Rings $6 (doesnt include LEDs) LED ring pic

When you go into Workgroup in XBMC you need to make sure that you're workgroup on your desktop or computer that you're sharing the files on is called WORKGROUP as well, otherwise it won't work. Either change your workgroup name and do a restart of both systems or alter the .xml file for XBMC and change the workgroup name in the Samba file. If you're already tried this, let me know...
Edit:
Well I guess you figured it out on your own, good job! Also thanks for the info? Was there a reason it needed to be switched to 192.168.100? Do you have a static or dhcp setup? _________________ XBOX v1.6c

I had the workgroup the same, it was even picking up my 'work' workgroup but when I tried to access shares I would get a message stating access was denied.
I changed the IP address, so that the box would look on my computer for the shares. The default 192.168.0.1 is not an address on my network.
I think the remedy was editing all the entries from:
<path>smb://workgroup;-:-/</path>
to
<path>smb://workgroup;admin:1234/</path> _________________ LED Rings $6 (doesnt include LEDs) LED ring pic
