So I came across a Seagate Barracuda, but it's a SATA. I looked up IDE to SATA converters, but nobody who tried all of the ones I saw in an Xbox had success without longer boot & load times. The Xbox at hand is a well used 1.1 with a stock WD that I would like to replace before it fails, but I'm not sure what the time frame for that HDD's failure is. Should I just get an IDE HDD, or use a converter on the Sg? If a converter any recommendations? _________________ 320GB ST3320620A 7200RPM 16MB Cache

I've found that using an IDE drive is more reliable, i use a 500GB and have plenty of room for the games and software i use. i tried 3 adapters with around 6 SATA drives and had too many boot issues. i prefere a smooth running machine.

True, no sense tapering the power of the old beast. Where do you get your IDE's from? I can't find any new at a very good price with good capacity. _________________ 320GB ST3320620A 7200RPM 16MB Cache
