I was crusing through some of the forums over at scene, and I noticed that a lot of the topics were about locking your hard drive and whcih onces were lockable? What do you gain from locking your hard drive? Or why should you lock it? Just wondering. Thanks _________________ XBOX v1.0:

You must lock your harddrive down if you dont want to use your modchip..
Well atleast im think thats why.. I never have used XBOX LIVE so i dont turn off my mod..
my 80gb isnt locked but will probably have to be if i want to turn off my modchip and boot to XLIVE...

just confirming..
If you dont lock your new XBOX HDD and turn off/disable your modchip to boot to the normal M$DASHBOARD it will give you a ERROR 05..
Just lock your new Hard Drive with Slayers Auto Installer v2.5 with its tools call configmagic or configpro (cant remember off the top of my head)..
Choose lock HD and thats it.. You error will be gone and ready to boot your xbox as if it had no modchip (using the normal bios on the motherboard).. _________________ HQ Network:

with the modchip i just installed APPLEX you can choose to turn your modchip on by holding the XBOX on BUTTON for 1 second..
IF you dont hold it for 1 second it will boot of the normal xbox (MOTHERBOARD) bios.. This is how any normal mod would boot also if it had a switch.
You have to lock the new HDD in your XBOX if you want to boot your xbox without your modchip turned on... So in otherwords:
You would only need to lock the hard drive if you wanted to turn off your modchip ever.. (yes, for XLIVE GAMING)..
Ive locked my HDD anyway as it is easy using the tools from Slayers v2.5 .
