Hello XboxXQ-community!
(BTW I'd like to thank you for your super-friendly support so far)
After following tons of advices and successfully building and locking my new HDD (with XBOXHDM 1.9), I was very happy.
I put it into my softmodded console but then it wouldn`t boot to my dash (which is UnleashX) but the default microsoft dashboard.
As SPPV let me know, I must have done something wrong with the backups of my factory Hard Drive or something like that (and I think I did so).
My question is (not to sound like a fool):
WHAT SHALL I DO NOW?
I have a built, locked 500 Gb Hard Drive and the xbox console in which it should be installed.
But it doesn't go.
I am very (and I mean VERY) desperated right now and if anyone could just help me out getting this HDD to work in my xbox; I would be the probablöy happiest human beeing in this world...
PLEASE help me out, guys!
I won't get it to work without your help .
Thank you so much.

If it's booting to the MS Dash, just resoftmod.

The problem is that I have this 500 GB HDD, which I cannot use.
And the Softmod files (in my case Linux + Splinter Cell files and unleashx xbox launcher) are still found in the games saves folder in microsoft dashboard.
I wonder if it will work to simply resoftmod with the 500 GB HDD already in it? This seems kinda to easy to me lol.

You can always rebuild the HDD using an AutoBuilder created image

That's pretty much what I'm saying. You can always take the HDD out and revert it to stock if you nuke it.

Hey Knight Blue:
I think I will go for Autobuilder, this seems more safe to me...
Thx for the feedback anyway.
SPPV:
If this will work for me (and it will ) I will be like O_O. May I contact you if I need to know anything regarding the operation?
Just one question for now regarding the basic hdm process because my HDD is built and locked:
Since I've built the C and E drive:
Will I run into problems because of that?
Will the tool ask me to delete those or anything?
I'd just like to ask now in my specific case, before I screw thinks up accidentally.
Cheers ma, thx!

No worries. As long as you follow the instructions to a tee you will come out happy. It will nuke the bad build and replace it with a good one.
This will give you an idea of what you will see when you use an Autobuilder DVD image. Bear in mind this is from an old build, the emus, xbmc etc are the newest available in the 5.1 release I linked above.
And the default skin (unleashX) is different now as well. It boots with the Scarface TWIY skin
Since you used XBOXHDM already you know what your doing pretty much. Just use AutoBuilder to make the image. Boot it, unlock the HDD, reboot and pick option 1, type xboxhd, pick build hdd from scratch, just say yes all the way until its done. pick option 8 and reboot, lock the hdd. put it in your xbox and enjoy.

Thank you very much, Sir, for illustrating and explaining me this operation so well. I will go for it as soon as possible.
I just downloaded Autobuilder from the direct XBOXHQ-link.
After unzipping it my AntiVirus program told me, that the EXE-file contains a virus and it won't let me open it and prepare my ISO.
Maybe it's just messing around; dunno...
What do you think?
Why should there be a virus? :/

^^ THERE'S NO VIRUS!
disable that POS AV (for that instance only) as it'll stop you from using the application!
there's NO risk at all!
all SPPV's gear has been on the line throughout!
ignore def/AV reports and use the autobuilder as you set out to do so!
(AV's ESPECIALLY the shit sponsored by M$junkysoft is KNOWN academically to report FALSE-POSITIVES!)
[edit] as the item ISN'T sponsored or endorsed by M$-shittysoft, it'll FALSE report a bad item, IGNORE IT! the object is SAFE 101% _________________ to all my friends... farewell and all the best to future prosperity... and remember, be excellent to each other!

Because its a compiler some AV shit the bed on it. AutoBuilder recently received BitDefender certification as CLEAN.
Shut down the AV, extract the 7z again, put Files and XBOXHDM on root of C and run the AutoBuilder exe

For future reference, download Microsoft Security Essentials and use that as an antivirus. Totally free and top of the line AV. Extremely low profile too, I've never seen it use up more than 2MB of RAM.

Please excuse I have to ask again, but after my failure I got VERY curious:
I softmodded with a Xbox Softmod Kit and with Splinter Cell.
I don't really know what this Shadow C-thing is, but I can remember that the installer asked me something about that when i softmodded the console.
Shall I pick option 2) ShadowC or 3)regular softmod then?
I guess option 2, right?
What is this shadowC-thing actually?

^^ shadow C:/ is an image on the hdd that contains a LOCKED backup of the dash whether it's softmodded or stock!
WORD OF ADVICE!
unless you sniff glue, as in "you like to randomly delete shit from C:/" then enable shadowC...
if you're normal and DON'T d1ck around with anything, it's safe NOT to use it!
it's a preventative measure for sealing/locking up an xbox dash (C:/ ghost) without bricking it!
probably put in place to protect the console from retards and children!
not essential for the well-adjusted to use but useful all the same!
(shadowC is also a protected file/partition clone and as such, NON-WRITABLE once dash is in place/contained!)
[edit] stick with "regular" softmod for now! _________________ to all my friends... farewell and all the best to future prosperity... and remember, be excellent to each other!
