The chip is split up and you are reading the size of all banks combined but only 256 of this can be flashed.

Thanx.. Next time i get a moment the flash will be done. I was going to use EvoXM8Plus, is this the best to use. I have another motherboard that i was going to rob the ram chips off of. Would this need a different bios?
Also i really wanted to try the processor upgrade, the cpu is on ebay but its a PGA not a BGA & i cant find a PGA to BGA adapter.
Thanx for all the help..

I never liked the m8 bios and used the X2 bios for mine, as far as i have seen the ram and chip upgrade is not worth the work you put in as it only helps with emus and such and you will need to hand modify the code to get them to even see the extra ram.

The ram chip and CPU upgrade isn't worth it at all. Only a few applications can use it and even then it's quite a stretch.
I don't think the X2 5035 bios comes in a 256kb format, does it? I thought the smallest one was 512kb. _________________

Im having trouble finding a good version anywhere. There was 1 on megaupload but the feds shut it down b4 i got all the parts!
Can any1 point me to a good place to get a working xmugen?

Most of the older x2 bios are 256 and run just as well.
