help! i have an original xbox and i got the "your xbox needs service" msg w/ no code # and in multiple languages. along w/ the flashing red/green ring. i pin pointed it was the hdd and have another one out of a different xbox to put in. but have no idea how to lock/unlock the drive so i can use it since i cannot do it threw the xbox now. is there any way to do it threw the pc?

hey man im sry i was just frustrated. ild just spent countless hours trying to find a solution. so then i finally decide im going to post on this forum and the first responce i get is a reminder how i accidently posted twice. i had literally just signed up i dont know what im doing and all i was looking for was help. anyways im sry it wont happen agian and ty for the help

All good man, just need to hold out some times for a guy with an answer to see the post before you take out your frustration on us. LOL
Let me know how this turns out as this is a commen fix for many HDD probs and the best part is that if you run in to a jam with it there are lots of posts about it for work arounds.
