I have an xbox with no hard drive. I installed Duox2. Flashed bios with M8+. Put in an ide to sata adaptor. Hard drive recognised, formatted and so on, 64gb. Used AID v4.41, one click modchip install. nothing doing, error 13. Dashboard related error.
Put in Slayer's 2.7, large HDD install. Everything came out fine. Put a game in loaded started game reset. Changed IGF, same difference. Loaded game to hard drive, got dirty disk error. Put in a DVD it played fine. Not sure what is happening here. I am assuming I have missed a vital step somewhere.
The original hard drive will not initialize, so no info off it, if this matters with a modchip anyway.
Any pointers would be much appreciated, I have never owned an xbox let alone modded one until now. Manky thanks.

No man i was talking about the dvd drive but since other disks work in it i can only guess the problem is a bad burn of AID, did you try the disk in some other xbox?

I have no other access to an xbox. I just have mine. I tried a different approach, format and prepare drives manually. Set up XBMC, this came out fine, played a game tinkered with settings, ie fan speed and a couple of other things. This is not my preferred setup and no joy with Evolution X, Unleash X or Avalaunch. Anode loaded in but no game play, rip. Next step will be to track down an old school IDE HDD. Read somewhere that inexplicable things seem to happen with some HDD. This whole thing is screwy.

Games are ripped with dvd2xbox, and I also tried complex tools. Games come from original discs and load to HDD with no missing files reported. But in each case I get a dirty disc error. I also did a reburn of AID, to no avail. I may have to consider d/lading again. I am now thinking of d/loading XBMC auto installer. I am having absolutely no luck with a connection via patch lead direct to PC, and via router to network. So no loading up the disk with ftp.

Do you know how to setup a simple network?? If not we can help im sure, just depends if ive got free time.
To find out what settings your xbox 1 shold be running do this on your pc:
1. Click Start Menu
2. Type CMD in the search area and hit ENTER
3. When the commant prompt comes up type:
Code:
ipconfig/all
When it displays the information all you want to look for is the following information.
So with that information i can tell that my xbox should have the following info. Just to be safe i will choose .10 for your xbox 1 address. you can change this as you like and test.
192.168.0.10 (just to be safe and if you have other pcs on the network)
oh and finally you can try and ping your xbox1 via the network once you have everything setup. So, if you setup your xbox1 with 192.168.0.10 address just do this and you should get a reply from the xbox.
