I have just installed a 1.5 TB Sata hard drive (using SATA IDE connector) using SID. It shows
F: 123 GB
G: 1300 GB
I'm concerned that the cluster size is not set correctly on G:. I installed xb partitioner but when I tried to run it, it would load but not respond to controller actions.
I copied a 1 K file to the G: drive and it shows 1K.
Questions:
1. Is there a way to determine cluster size w/o using xb partioner
2. Is there anyway to get xb partioner to respond to the controller
3. Is there another way to set cluster size if required
I'm afraid of loading data on the G: partition until this question is resolved.
Thanks

I'm not sure if this will help, but are you using a retail xbox controller?
Some programs are picky and only respond to retail xbox controllers.

Yes. I used the original fat wired MS controller. I also tried a 3rd party wireless controller.

Yes. Installed to e:\apps from AID 4.5 and ran it from thereb
Someone on another board said xbpartitioner 1.1 freezes if it sees a partition larger than 1 Gig. They said to use xbp 1.0 to resize partitions before using 1.1 to set final cluster size.
Anyone know where to get XBP 1.0?
Thanks

That's a VIP link. Is there some other place I could download it?

Nevermind, I found it.
Now my problem is figuring out how to use XBP 1.0 to change the F: partition from 129 Gig to 750 Gig. I can't seem to increase the size of F:

OK. I figured out how to change the partion size of F: and G: to 746 Gig. It formatted them with 32 K clusters.
Now my queston is what is the maxiumum safe size for 32 K clusters? Do I need to up the cluster size to 64K?
Thanks

I would go 64 to be safe and using the newer partitioner will do that for you auto.
