Hello All,
My softmodded box (krayzie) with XBMC has served me well over the few years. The drive is starting to flake, I have Backed up everything from it. Interesting, the new drive is a WD320G JB, it is lockable and according to the drive compatibility chart its valid. I though this would be the easy way, unlock original well in this case 40G seagate, using XBOXHD, cloned drive. Verified you XBROWSER, locked new drive. Put it in XBOX and I get real pretty blinking lights immediately upon boot(similar to putting in an unlocked drive). So I lock the original back up plug in and it works ? After doing some research the road seems to split many ways, My XBOX version is 1.0, well according to 1 site I came across, say the XBOX unlocks all hardware on the fly during post, they passkey is derived from serial number of xbox, eprom.bin and hard drive. Well if this is true, then the drive lock would change anytime you swap a drive right ? Road 2, My bios doesn't recognize the large drive and I need to flash it or get mod chip ? Road 3, use AID 4.x, setup old drive as new one with evoX with 137+ drive support and install phoenix bios loader on drive and new bios, then clone to new drive and hope that works ?
Yeah, its pretty much the same as XBOXHDM, just console based rather than PC.
If you decide on the TSOP flash, you cant go wrong with the X2 5035 bios, its stable and has some good configuration options.
I dont mean to insult your intelligence but make sure you use the 1024kb one, to fit the TSOP on your v1.0 console. _________________

OK cool, I was aware of the 1mb bios. Does the bios require a specific "dash".xbe ? such as evo
I think it does, Cant remember what the default is, probably evox.xbe - You can change it with the X2 Config maker to whatever you like tho. _________________
